Dodekapus Presents: I Can Dream All Day

This is an Art event filled night of dreams, and The Imperial OPA circus performing in your dreamy mind.

On the 5th of February, 2011, Dodekapus Art Collective will be hosting its next fantastical art show, “I Can Dream All Day” at Relapse Theater Warehouse located at 200 Permalume Place NW. A not to be missed experience, please join the world of Dr. Somnus as he takes you on a wild and experimental journey through the land of dreams and nightmares with magical performances, pillow fights, mysterious potions, and extravagant displ…ays of the imagination!

The doors open at 8pm. Admission is $5, or bring a canned food (donated to Atlanta Community Food Bank) and it’s only $3.

Dodekapus will also be auctioning off a collaborative piece of artwork created by the kids at Children’s Health care of Atlanta, with proceeds going back to the hospital. So, come out! Make your dreams a reality through your local arts community! We’ll see you on February 5th, Atlanta!

Dalí ’til Dawn with the Circus of the Surreal

The High Museum is giving a spectacular send-off to the the master of surrealism. Dalí: The Late Work is closing and The Imperial OPA will be there to make sure it goes out with a bang.

The High Museum will be open 31 hours straight to give everyone one last chance to see this groundbreaking exhibition. The circus will be putting on a mind-bendingly thrilling show in the middle of all the festivities. Come out on Saturday night to see juggling, dancing, and balancing galore in the gallery of the surreal. Don’t miss this final chance to see the Dalí exhibit before it disappears, and a fantastic opportunity to spend an evening with your favorite local circus troupe.

Hinterland Lights Up Atlanta

This Saturday, the metropolitan landscape will become something magical. Downtown Atlanta will behold a an explosion of utopian confetti, breathtaking visuals, and dynamic movement. gloATL’s creation, “Hinterland,” will premiere a progressive, migrating work of light, technology, dance, music, aerial, and theatrical design.
Keep an eye out for your favorite circus troupe in between Antwan “Big Boi” Patton of Outkast performing music from his new album and a parade full of drumming, acrobats, stunt-biking and human in a giant hamster ball. The Imperial OPA will be in the midst of the hundreds of dancers, adding some circus magic—juggling, fire eating, giant fantastical puppet creatures and more!
Look for us in this surreal experience at Woodruff Park at 7pm, and dance with us as we parade our way to the World of Coca-Cola.

Chomp & Stomp Chilifest & Circus Show

So much excitement to be had in one day! A 5k run, a chili cook off festival, an artists market, live blue grass bands, AND circus entertainment! In the homey neighborhood of Cabbagetown we’ll be cranking up the heat on this happening shindig. Bring your best stompin’ boots, your dancing partner & an appetite for chili and great entertainment. We’ll be partying all day and kicking it up all the way at 3pm with our big all-out show, a festival finale you don’t want to miss.

The Imperial Opa are bringing the phantasmagoric feats to a paranormal circus event benefitting PushPush theater, who for nearly 15 years have decimated the boundaries of contemporary theatre and created a place for Atlanta in the international arts scene. This one-night-only event will feature the musical stylings of Ghosts Project along with the high flying improvisational hi-jinx of Flight of Swallows in addition to the spectacular stunts of The Imperial Opa. 2010 East Atlanta Strut – Circus

What began over 13 years ago as some jazz players having a community back yard BBQ has grown to a huge event. Now in its 13th year, the East Atlanta Strut is a community organized, one-day festival, featuring music, art and events to raise money for neighborhood charities and organizations and support local businesses… Is Back!

This Year the Strut and the OPA will be entering the masses all day and into the night.

The Imperial OPA will be located in the parking lot by the historic Earl (http://www.badearl.com/) and will be featuring circus acts through the day and into the night. We will also be having special guests join us like the The Vauxhall Garden Variety Players (link) and the Christ lord band (http://christlord.bandcamp.com/).
Both are remarkable to hear and see!

In addition we will be having a full on circus show at 8pm(ish), will be marching in the parade at 2pm and have many smaller acts thought the day that are not to be missed!

Blair Crimmins and Hookers and The OPA

Blair Crimmins and Hookers will be taking over the Wednesday night residency at Star Bar starting on September 1st! Each Wednesday night show will have a different theme ranging from Cabaret to Mardi Gras.

For the Grand Opening night, The Imperial OPA Circus will entertain the crowd with our talents along side the Hookers!
