With much Fan-fair and hoopla The Imperial OPA is thrilled to announce its next show!
We Present ~

The Imperial House of OPA

Dates: March 23 and 24 of 2012
The Event will be at:
The Arts Exchange
750 Kalb Street, SE, Atlanta, GA 30312

A fun different experience with extraordinary humans doing things that are remarkable, unusual, and filled to the brim, THE TOP with circus styling. It is by far the not-to-be-missed event of March and an event that will leave you agape with awe!

The show will be set at the Arts Exchange and after the show starts, *The Show Starts!! (*yes, we are alluding to something with that phrase…). For the show we feature a high styling of performance, humans that have bent the very will of fate and stroll a path of uniqueness they pick. After *The Show Starts we find that Some wish to undo the corset of life – but are scared to let the laces go, while others embrace the free flow… and oh, whats this? … Gold fish? HAHAHAHA yes indeed my koi friend we have surprises in the house of OPA for you.

The Doors will Open at 8pm sharp(-ish)

  • At 8:30 the ever fantastic “Braking Point” (a favorite of the local Ren-Fair here in Atlanta) will be giving a 30 minuet performance that will leave your side split with the blood of laughter spilling out.
  • At 9:15 – The House of OPA , it starts….The doors shut and you are locked in for the optical spectacle of it all.
  • We will have a 15 minuet intermission (*at some place in the show) that will feature LIVE fire acts outside, don’t worry you will like it.
  • Then after the show, another show outside with more fire and friends. Its a regular fire sale of shows my friend. (*Wink) a blazing bonanza of a night of performance!

Tickets on Sale NOW!

  • General admission : $20 : You get a seat and a show and eyes filled with wonder.
  • VIP admission : $30 in advance ($40 at the door): Front row seats and special treats during the show.
  • A table up front for 4 : $150 in advance ($180 at the door) : This price gets you 4 tickets, gives you a table up close to the stage and you get some treats too! OPA! (We only have 4 tables)
  • Sponsor : $100 : Same as VIP + a listing in our program guide thanking you + an autographed play bill by cast.
  • Producer : $1000 : Same as Sponsor + admission to our cast wrap party for you and 5 friends (to be held the follow Wednesday night) !

The Imperial OPA at – The Drive-By Theater Project!

The Imperial OPA has been invited to be part of Atlanta historic ‘Drive by theater project’!

Presented by ‘Odd man out theater’.

This show will feature new members of the Circus family, New and original music from the OPA band, + Guest performances by – Breaking Point, Black Sheep, and LIVE fire performance’s out side after the show!

The acts presented will be a work in progress. The funds raised from this event will go towards the development of The OPA’s Next big show on March 23rd and 24th.

The Imperial OPA circus is putting on it next production – ‘Curse of the Great Boodeeni’!

Doors open at 8 pm.
Location: The Arts Exchange (750 Kalb Street Southeast)
Show Dates October 21st and 22nd

This show will feature a mix of theater and Circus in its 1 hour run time.

Acts include – Juggling, Aerials, Acrobatics, Dance, Burlesque, Acro-Yoga, + more AND all intertwined in an intriguing stroy line!

“A circus show like Non-Other” – and not to be missed!!

Each show has 200 Tickets for sale.
We are using a sliding scale to better make this show affordable for you all!
The First 1 – 100 tickets @ 12$ each
The next 100-150 tickets @ 16$ each
The last 150 – 200 @ 20$ each
(*tickets go up +5$ at the door day of the show)
We also have VIP tickets that gets you a table up front and a 5 free drinks. We have 15 of these at 50$ each.

East Atlanta Strut 2011

OPA! Its that time of year again when East Atlanta opens up its arms for the city!

Come on out and Join Your Local Circus for a day of entertainment and delight at the East Atlanta Strut… oh and did we mention it is FREE to come to? no? Well it is! HAHA! OPA!

Yes Folks a full day of circus delight is in store ya – along with Music, drinks, food, games, and more!

Here is the line up for the day.

  • 10 am – The Strut starts up!
  • 2pm – 3pm – A mighty fine parade with creative folks and the OPA!
  • 3pm – on the OPA stage – our first 30 minuet circus show for the day!
  • 4pm – The killer band ‘Mourdella’ takes us on a 45 minuet music fest along side the ‘Ice Cuban’ doing live ice carving! (*this is too cool to miss)
  • 530pm – The Sky Gym (*Liquid sky productions) will be amazing crowds with a 30 minuet Aerial masterpiece!
  • 530pm – The Circus is back for a 30 minuet afternoon show featuring those breathtaking dance from Rythma Studios!
  • 615pm – Join us for some hilarity when the strongest man in the world “Brutus” hosts a puppet spectacle concluding in the legionary monster wrestling of the EAV recycle program!
  • 7pm – Musée du Coeur – will take you on a vaudeville styled slip and slide of magic leaving you salivating for more!
  • 740 ish – We will ask you to shuffle your kids away at this point.
  • 8pm – Siren’s of the South – Atlanta’s premier burlesque troop will leave your jaws droped and eyes popped!
  • 845pm – The OPA returns for its last show of the night featuring a 1 hour medley of creativity, magic, skill, and amazement.

The Clockwork Carnival

The One and only OPA band know as “The Snatchave Orchestra” will be rocking the Goat farm April 16 from 7pm till 8pm.

While this is not an official OPA produced show it will be an amazing night of adventure and Circus delight! Additionally, all the way from Carrboro, North Carolina,  the guest DJ brilliance of the Davenport Sisters of the Clockwork Cabaret radio show!  Local DJ and host Doctor Q will be on hand to spin and conduct the three ring event.

Be amazed at the explosions of flaming fiery frenzy, as most of our amazing acts will spin, dance, whip, and twirl dangerous dancing flames of dazzling delight! With guests Pyro Salto from Birmingham Alabama, and featuring the darling dames of open flames, the Hot Toddies Flaming Cabaret!

Marvel at the delicious local star of aerial arts, Sadie Hawkins and laugh till your guts burst at the Moldavian comedic troupe, the Thimblerig Circus!

ALL this for the paltry cost of $15 at the door, or just $10 if dressed in your circus or steampunk best, and you are guaranteed to leave impressed!

A portion of the proceeds will fund the Arts2People project of Asheville, the chosen charity of the Americana Sideshow and Burlesque Festival.

Pets and The Sity

Behold Lovers of little furry friends The OPA will be helping out at “Pets and the Sity” Pet food bank fundraiser on 3/19/2011.

This is an event to help benefit a pet food bank located here in Atlanta GA. The goal of the night is to raise $3200.00 to support the further success and growth of this wonderful pet food bank that is out to do good.

The OPA will be supplying a few fire artist for out front and a few walk around performers inside.  If your free and would like to help this cause, the event will be at the ever classy

The door cost is 5$ and the event runs from 7pm – 10:30pm

Hunger Walk 2011

We did not get the post up in time, but we wanted to give a big shout out to The Atlanta Food bank (http://www.acfb.org/) !

The Imperial OPA was proud to help take part in an astounding fundraiser for the Atlanta food bank on 3/13/2011! We supplied stilt walkers, Hula hoppers, clowns, and entertainment for this extraordinary great cause.  The 27th annual Hunger Walk/Run had gorgeous weather, and a turnout of more than 12,000 people! Amazing.

The Fundraising drive will remain open till the 31st – we encourage you to support your local food bank too!

Thank you Atlanta Food bank for all you do for the city of Atlanta! Keep up the great work~

Atlanta Hoop Jam For Hope

The OPA would like to give a big shout out to  The Atlanta Women’s Foundation (http://www.atlantawomen.org/).

The OPA was out supporting the 1st Hoop for hope Hula-Hoop Jam in Woodruff park on 3/11/2011 and we all had an amazing time at it!

This was the first Hula Hooping Fundraiser benefiting The Atlanta Women’s Foundation. Hoop Pro Rebecca DeShon of Hoop Essence led an afternoon of hooping, while the OPA Stilt walked and Hooped along with hundreds of other Atlantans to eliminate generational poverty for Atlanta’s women and girls.

Thank you Rebecca and the Womans Shelter for all you do in the city of Atlanta. Glad the OPA could support such a good cause!
